Sahastri Hercules, born in Brooklyn, NY, is a 38-year-old veteran with a diverse and impactful background. He served in the US Army for eight years, from 2004 to 2012, where he held various clinical laboratory positions. His military career included critical roles in criminal investigation, antiterrorism, and hospital work, showcasing his commitment to service and his ability to thrive in high-pressure environments. Sahastri's life has been shaped by both challenges and resilience. He faced traumatic experiences in his childhood, which were compounded by the intense situations he encountered during his military service. As a result, he has lived with auditory and visual hallucinations for many years, navigating the complexities of mental health with courage and determination. In recent years, Sahastri has turned his experiences into a source of strength by engaging in peer support for the past two years with VVV. Through this work, he has dedicated himself to helping others who face similar challenges, fostering a sense of community and understanding among those affected by trauma.
