About me
Sadie Heald, LMSW has been a Peer Specialist Supervisor on an Intensive Mobile Treatment team at the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS) for over 4 years and just recently accepted a position as a Clinical Supervisor at a Supportive Housing site. Sadie is thankful to have also become a LMSW through a Department of Health and Mental Hygiene scholarship during her time at CUCS. She changed careers from teaching science to working in mental health about 8 years ago. She started as a Peer Specialist at a supportive housing agency in Westchester where she had the opportunity to teach a training for peers in recovery to become professional Peer Specialists. The mental health field has continued to bridge the gap between peer and non-peer staff during her career, and Sadie looks forward to encouraging more treatment environments (and providers) to be truly interdisciplinary throughout her career. In addition to her recovery family, Sadie has found fulfilling communities through outdoor rock climbing and the Brazilian martial art of capoeira.
