Philip Yanos, PhD is a professor in the psychology department at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He is the author of the books Written Off: Mental Health Stigma and the Loss of Human Potential (2018) and Exiles in New York City: Warehousing the Marginalized on Ward's Island. He serves as Director of Clinical Training for the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology at John Jay College and is Associate Editor for the journal Stigma and Health. He is a board member of the peer-led organizations City Voices and the Institute for the Development of Human Arts.
