About me
Punita Peketi will complete her psychiatry residency at Emory University in July 2026. She earned her MD at Northeast Ohio Medical University and her bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences, with a minor in psychology, from the University of Akron. Her interest in psychiatry grew through her volunteer experiences surrounding homelessness, hospice care, and working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. She is drawn to individuals with psychotic spectrum illness and is passionate about integrating psychotherapy into care for this population. She has also completed coursework at her psychoanalytic institute and is committed to advocating for this foundational work in the community. Upon graduation, Punita hopes to blend psychodynamic therapy with medication management for underserved populations while continuing her analytic training.
