About me
Michael Garcia is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) at Nova Southeastern University and a Psychology Trainee in the Psychological Services for the Emotionally Distressed (PSED) program, where he provides psychotherapy to adults experiencing trauma-related disorders, psychosis, mood disorders, and complex interpersonal difficulties. As a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, his clinical and research interests center on trauma, psychosis, military mental health, and recovery-oriented approaches that emphasize the therapeutic relationship and the individual's lived experience. In addition to his clinical work, Michael serves as Clinic Coordinator for the Center for Research and Treatment (CRT) for Veterans, Active Duty, and First Responders, where he contributes to research integrating biofeedback, psychological skills training, and esketamine-assisted psychotherapy. His work is driven by a commitment to compassionate, person-centered care that bridges evidence-based practice with meaningful human connection.
