About me
Kendra Terry currently works as a postdoctoral fellow and psychoanalytic psychotherapist at the Greene Clinic. Their previous training has included a bachelor’s degree in film from Wellesley College, a master’s degree from Columbia University and doctorate from Adelphi University in clinical psychology. They have also held year-long placements at Mount Sinai Hospital, the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (NYPSI), NYU Postdoc, the White Institute, and Silver Hill Hospital. They are deeply invested in psychoanalytic theory and practice, and aim to work with patients to become the best versions of themselves, whatever this may mean, through insight and interpretation, containment and reflection, and an exploration of the self and the societies we live as part of. Kendra’s longtime interest and study of art, poetry, and literature and the ways our creative pursuit of lives worth living intersect with the project of psychoanalysis have propelled them to think, reflect, and write on these and other topics. They have presented at a number of conferences, including Division 39 and Psychoanalysis, Culture, and Society, as well as written for Division Review and Psychoanalytic Dialogues (in press), American Literary History, as well as for artist gallery books and art show press releases.
