About me
Joël is the founder of the organization Advocates for Supportive Housing and the director of the non-profit, Community Village Group in Ann Arbor, MI. She is the mother of an adult child with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. She and her group are primarily senior citizens who worry about the lack of housing for their adult children when they can no longer provide care. This population is invisible to decision makers and the general community. Providing for her child’s future and others in this same situation is what led her on this journey.
