About me
James Ogilvie, PhD is a graduate of the NYU Postdoctoral Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. He has written and presented on a number of subjects, including: On inpatient spiritual issues groups; Bion’s mysticism as scientific method; Buddhist emptiness and its relation to psychotherapeutic process; and On the relevance of Wittgenstein’s therapeutic method in the treatment of psychosis. James was the lead organizer for the 2025 International Bion Conference in New York. He teaches at several institutes in New York City and maintains a private practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy and supervision in Manhattan where he also leads ongoing Bion study groups.
