About me
Sheharyar Hussain is a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology at John Jay College and the Graduate Center. As a Pakistani American Muslim who has little representation in the field of clinical psychology, Sheharyar is passionate about highlighting the narratives of people who are often overlooked in research, social policy and clinical practice. His work focuses on mental health stigma in the South Asian community, the impact of microaggressions on South Asian mental health, and youth with the first episode of psychosis.
