Dr. Chris Nadler, PhD, LP-D, (they/them) is a psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City. They are a training analyst, supervisor and faculty member at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis, and lecture in the Anni Bergman Parent-Infant Training Program. Chris completed psychoanalytic training in the Contemporary Freudian Society’s Integrated Child and Adult Psychoanalysis program with a concentration in Adult Psychoanalysis. They also earned a license in psychoanalysis with diagnostic privilege through CFS’s New York State License Qualifying program. Chris also completed three-years of clinical training in conducting psychoanalytic work with infants and their caregivers at the Anni Bergman Parent-Infant Training Program. Chris is the 2023 winner of the Ralph Roughton Paper Award, and a 2022 Sexualities and Gender Identities Committee Scholar of the Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology (Division 39 of APA). Prior to clinical training, they earned a doctorate in sociology at the Graduate Center, CUNY, where they were a Mellon Fellow in the Committee for Interdisciplinary Science Studies, and held multiple fellowships in pedagogy, including a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in pedagogy at CUNY’s Teaching and Learning Collaboratory. Chris is an award-winning educator, has published on pedagogy, and has over two decades of teaching experience at four-year undergraduate and community colleges, as well as teaching in masters and doctoral programs, and postgraduate psychoanalytic institutes.
