About me
Françoise Davoine is a psychoanalyst, author, and researcher whose pioneering work has shaped contemporary understandings of psychosis, trauma, and the social dimensions of mental suffering. She practiced for more than 30 years in a public psychiatric hospital in France, alongside a private practice and extensive clinical supervision.
At the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, she co-led for nearly 40 years the weekly seminar Madness and the Social Link, an influential interdisciplinary forum. An Erikson Scholar at the Austen Riggs Center, she is a longtime member of the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis (ISPS) and received the ISPS-US Gaetano Benedetti Award in 2023.
