About me
Erin Soros lives in Prince George, British Columbia where she is an assistant professor of contemporary critical theory and literary studies. She writes fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and critical essays. She researches psychosis and the psychiatric and police response to it. She has been a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University and the University of Toronto and a visiting writer at Cambridge University. Recent essays have appeared in Carte Blanche, English Studies in Canada, Topia: Canadian Journal of Cultural Studies and Sociologica: International Journal for Sociological Debate. Her poetry received The Malahat Review Long Poem Prize and was included in Best Canadian Poetry 2020. Her nonfiction received the Writers’ Union of Canada Short Prose Award and won Gold at the 2021 National Magazine Award for “One of a Kind Storytelling.” Her fiction received the CBC Literary Award and the Commonwealth Award for the Short Story
