About me
Erica Fletcher is an interdisciplinary scholar in social medicine and a Core Investigator at the VA Health Systems Research (HSR) Center for the Study of Healthcare Innovation, Implementation and Policy (CSHIIP) and the Desert Pacific VA Mental Illness Research, Education and Clinical Center (MIRECC). Her training and research experiences have focused on studying the delivery of peer support services developed by and for people experiencing behavioral health challenges and homelessness. As a VA investigator, she contributed extensively to Veteran Voices and Visions (VVV; PI: Ippolytos Kalofonos), adapting the Hearing Voices community-based approach for psychosocial group facilitation within the VA. She has also served in peer roles, as a facilitator of peer support groups for over 5 years and as a leader at a peer specialist-staffed drop-in center at the West Los Angeles VA. This work enhances her scholarship, spurring efforts to involve service users in implementation and research processes and develop their capacity as leaders.
