Christopher Wolter is a licensed psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City, where he works primarily with psychotic patients. He is a doctoral candidate at the European Graduate School and attends the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis, completing a dissertation on foreclosure, trauma, and subjective becoming. His work sits at the intersection of Lacanian clinical theory, critical approaches to psychosis, and the ethics of analytic practice. He is an active researcher, writer, and presenter whose current work examines what structural psychoanalysis offers to contemporary conversations about trauma, alienation, and the social conditions of psychological suffering. Before turning to psychoanalysis, he trained in theatre — a formation that continues to shape his understanding of the clinical space.
