About me
Acquilin (they/xe) is a queer, trans, neurodivergent, disabled advocate for non-carceral mental health care and an anti-capitalist, anti-caste, anti-colonial, anti-majoritarian, anti-sanist voice for systemic change. They are an early-career counseling psychologist, psychotherapist, and couples counselor who received their M.Sc. in Counseling Psychology from Montfort College, Bengaluru and was trained at The Alternative Story, a leading mental health organization in India, committed to bridging the mental health gap in the country. Before switching careers, Acquilin worked as a generalist and growth strategist at startups for close to a decade. They also hold an M.Sc. in Physics from Mumbai University.
Acquilin specializes in working with people belonging to historically marginalized communities, people with chronic pain & chronic illnesses, professionals alienated in capitalist workforces, adult students struggling in the new world, and people living with complex mental health conditions such as psychosis, Dissociative Identity Disorder or OSDD, autism, ADHD, etc. Acquilin primarily uses an integrative Existential-Relational approach to therapy. They’ve been trained in and under supervision for the use of Internal Family Systems (a trauma-focused approach).
