About me
Amanda Siriram is a rising fourth-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at John Jay College and the Graduate Center at the City University of New York. Amanda earned both her BA in Psychology in 2020 and M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rutgers University in 2022. Her research has comprised several areas including exploration of correlates and impacts of intersectional stigma among people with marginalized identities, assessment of trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder among individuals with serious mental illnesses, and the impact of mental health stigma on recovery-related domains among post-secondary students with mental health conditions. An essential aspect of her research focus involves exploring and conceptualizing how self-stigma impacts people with mental health conditions at critical phases of identity development, specifically during the period of young adulthood.
