About me
Gabrielle Hansen, M.A., is a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. candidate at Alliant University whose clinical and research work focuses on psychosis, social cognition, stigma, and neuropsychological assessment. She has provided evidence-based therapeutic and assessment services across inpatient, outpatient, crisis stabilization, private practice, and research settings, with training in CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral social skills training (CBSST). Most notably, Gabrielle conducted research through the TRACE Lab and the Center for Mental Health Technology at the University of California, San Diego, where she worked on interventions and neurocognitive research related to schizophrenia and severe mental illness.Her dissertation research examines social cognition as a mechanism underlying stigma among mental health service providers toward individuals with psychosis. Gabrielle will present her work at national conferences including the American Psychological Association, and has had work presented at other national conferences including Association for Psychological Science, and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Her professional interests include severe mental illness, trauma-informed care, and culturally responsive clinical practice, with a broader goal of improving equity and outcomes in mental health treatment through research and clinical intervention. Gabrielle is starting her formal internship at the VA San Diego Healthcare System, where she will train in the Center for Recovery Education clinic and the Neuromodulation clinic.
